Day 1: Arrival at the Airport, Kigali Bird Watching

On your arrival at the Airport in Rwanda, you will be met by a tour guide from Silverback gorilla tours for a warm a welcome to the Land of “a Thousand Hills”. You will straight away start your 3 days bird watching Rwanda itinerary with a birding trip to the nearby wetlands in the outskirts of Kigali City. Rwanda is such a biodiversity place and therefore the bird species are everywhere. You will then retire to the lodge or hotel. You will be seeing birds all along the way.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera, Bird Watching along Akagera River

The second day of your trip takes you to Akagera National Park one of the preferred birding destinations in Rwanda hosting over 500 species. The scenic journey driving past amazing hilly areas of the country will takes us only 2-3 hours before we arrive. You will have an exceptional bird watching tour in the afternnon with a chance to spot the variety of the bird species in the park and have the beautiful panoramic views overlooking the River Akagera. Day 3: Full Bird Watching in Akagera, Departure to Kigali

After breakfast early in the morning, enjoy your early breakfast and go for a bird watching for the whole day in the Akagera National park. Expect to see a diversity of bird species such as the Shoebill Stork, the headed Black Chat, Bennett’s Woodpecker, Long-toed Lapwing, Tabora Cisticola White-winged Warbler, Swamp Flycatcher, White-Black-collared Barbet and Miombo Wren-warbler among others.
