4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival for the 4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour and Transfer to Ruhengeri (2-3 Hours Drive)

Your 4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour will start with a pickup from the airport on your arrival or from your point of stay in Kigali and then start our journey Northwards to Volcanoes National Park which is home to about half of the World’s remaining mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, you will register and check-in at the lodge you booked for, then lunch and some rest. You will spend the rest of the day sightseeing and relaxing around the hotel till dinner time.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today, you will wake up to a sumptuous breakfast and your driver-guide will take you to the park headquarters where you will meet up with fellow gorilla trackers and assemble for a general briefing about the gorilla trekking activity. During the briefing, you will be allocated a particular gorilla family to track and the safari guides will lead you to the Gorilla trails. The time spent searching for the gorillas is usually between 1-6 hours depending on their movements. Once you meet the gorillas, guides will allow you a maximum of one(1) hour observing the gorillas in their natural setting. After that, you will hike back to your lodge/hotel (as above) for your lunch and later, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village

Wake up to precious breakfast meal and set on to visit the Iby’wachu cultural village for a detailed account of the Kinyarwanda traditions and culture right from the pre-colonial era up to date. This is the exciting part of your 4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour. You will get a chance to mix both local and foreign culture and also enjoy the local taste of Rwandan cuisine and locally brewed wines. Expect to participate in cultural activities such as storytelling, singing and dancing around a campfire and spend the night in a traditional hut while interacting with the locals here. In the evening you may opt to have dinner and overnight in one of the local huts or drive back to the lodge of your second day night.

Day 4: End of the 4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour and Transfer back to Kigali

You can choose to end your 4 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour in style by opting for another for Kigali City tour where you can visit the colourful markets and the craft centres such as Kimironko Markets, Kigali Art Crafts Center, Nyamirabo Women center and the Imgongo center for your final day shopping. You will after lunch after be transferred to the Airport for your outbound flight.
