Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Silverback Tour representative and introduced to your private driver-guide. After a short briefing about your safari, you will begin your journey eastwards towards Akagera National Park in a comfortable private 4×4 vehicle. The scenic drive takes you through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, where you will see rolling hills, cultivated fields, traditional homesteads, and lively rural trading centres. Upon arrival at the park, you will enter the savannah wilderness and begin an introductory game drive, depending on your arrival time and the park’s operating schedule. You may encounter zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes, and other wildlife as your guide introduces you to the park’s diverse habitats. Later, proceed to your luxury lodge, settle into your accommodation, and enjoy time to relax while appreciating the peaceful surroundings. Day 2: Full-Day Big Five Safari in Akagera National Park
Begin your day with an early breakfast before setting out on an exciting morning game drive through Akagera National Park. Accompanied by your experienced guide, you will explore the park’s varied landscapes in search of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and the celebrated Big Five, including lions, leopards, and rhinoceroses. Your guide will explain animal behaviour, wildlife conservation, and the ecological importance of Akagera’s grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands. You will have opportunities to stop at suitable locations for photography and to appreciate the scenery while observing wildlife from your safari vehicle. Depending on the route and timing, you may enjoy a picnic lunch in an authorised location or return to your lodge for a relaxing midday break. In the afternoon, continue exploring other areas of the park before returning to your accommodation for dinner.
