Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be welcomed by a Silverback Tour representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation. Arusha is a major gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit and provides a convenient starting point for your wildlife adventure. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to explore parts of the city, visit a local craft centre or simply relax at your accommodation. Your safari guide will brief you about the upcoming journey, including the destinations, game drives and general safari arrangements. You will also have time to organise your luggage and prepare for the exciting wildlife experiences ahead. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and rest before beginning your Tanzania Big Five safari the following morning.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and travel towards Tarangire National Park, one of the highlights of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. The journey takes you through scenic countryside before you enter the park and begin your first wildlife game drive. Tarangire is particularly recognised for its elephants, large baobab trees and diverse wildlife, making it an excellent destination for a Tanzania wildlife safari. As you explore the park, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs and numerous bird species. You will enjoy a picnic or lodge lunch before continuing with your game drive across the park’s varied landscapes. In the late afternoon, you will proceed to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The journey provides a changing view of northern Tanzania as you travel from the lower savannah landscapes towards the elevated Ngorongoro Highlands. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch before relaxing or taking part in an optional local cultural experience. You may also enjoy views of the surrounding highlands while preparing for the following day’s Ngorongoro Crater safari. The Ngorongoro area is an important part of the northern Tanzania safari circuit and offers a distinctive combination of wildlife, conservation and dramatic scenery. Your evening will be spent enjoying dinner and preparing for an early start into the crater the following morning.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Big Five Safari to Serengeti
You will wake early for breakfast before descending into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable morning game drive. The crater provides a remarkable wildlife setting where you may search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and other species. You will have the opportunity to enjoy photography while your guide explains the wildlife, habitats and landscapes around you. After your crater safari, you will ascend and continue towards Serengeti National Park, travelling through the spectacular landscapes of northern Tanzania. Depending on the route and wildlife activity, you may begin game viewing as you approach the Serengeti plains. You will arrive at your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay, ready for the main Serengeti wildlife experience the following day.

Day 5: Full-Day Serengeti Great Migration and Big Five Safari
Today is dedicated to a full-day Serengeti National Park safari, giving you extensive time to explore the park’s vast plains and wildlife-rich habitats. Serengeti is famous for its exceptional wildlife and the annual movement of large herds of wildebeest and zebras, while also supporting iconic predators such as lions and leopards. You will begin with an early morning game drive when wildlife activity can be particularly rewarding, searching for predators, herbivores and other animals across the plains. If your safari coincides with the relevant stage of the Great Migration, your guide will position the game drive according to current herd movements and local conditions. After a picnic lunch, you will continue exploring the Serengeti, looking for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife. In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and your final night in the Serengeti wilderness.

Day 6: Serengeti to Arusha and Departure
After breakfast, you will enjoy your final morning in the Serengeti before beginning your journey towards Arusha. Depending on your departure arrangements, you may have time for a short morning game drive, giving you one final opportunity to appreciate the Serengeti’s landscapes and wildlife. Your guide will then begin the transfer towards Arusha by road, or an optional domestic flight can be arranged where appropriate. On arrival in Arusha, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha Airport or another agreed departure point. Silverback Tour will coordinate your departure arrangements according to your flight schedule and onward travel plans. This marks the end of your 6 Days Tanzania Big Five and Great Migration Safari, following an exciting journey through Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti.
