Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be warmly welcomed by a Silverback Tour representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation. Arusha is the main gateway to many of Tanzania’s northern safari destinations and provides a convenient starting point for your Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to explore the city, visit a local craft centre or simply relax at your accommodation. Your safari guide will meet you for a briefing about the upcoming programme, including the destinations, game drives and general safari arrangements. You will have time to prepare your luggage and organise any personal items before the safari begins. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and rest at your hotel as you prepare for the exciting wildlife experiences ahead.

Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and begin your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania, with opportunities to observe local communities, cultivated areas and changing scenery along the way. As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape opens into vast grasslands that provide the setting for one of Africa’s most famous wildlife ecosystems. Depending on your route and arrival time, you may begin your first Serengeti game drive while travelling towards your lodge or camp. You will have opportunities to search for wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes and various antelope species. Predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards may also be encountered, although wildlife sightings depend on animal movements and natural conditions. After your game drive, you will proceed to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay in the Serengeti wilderness.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Wildlife and Great Migration Safari

Your guide will take you through different areas of the park while explaining animal behaviour, vegetation and the Serengeti ecosystem. You may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras, alongside giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, gazelles and other herbivores. You will also search for predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards, while keeping an eye out for other fascinating wildlife and bird species. If your safari coincides with the Great Migration, your guide will follow the current movements of the herds and select suitable areas for game viewing. After a picnic lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive before returning to your lodge or camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Wildlife Safari

During your game drive, you will have opportunities to search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and other species. You may also have the opportunity to look for rhinoceros, one of the most sought-after animals on a Tanzania Big Five safari. Your guide will take you through suitable wildlife areas while explaining the ecological importance of the crater and its surrounding conservation landscape. You will enjoy a picnic lunch during the day’s exploration before continuing with additional game viewing across the crater floor. In the afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and return to your accommodation for dinner, relaxation and your final night on the safari.

On arrival in Arusha, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha Airport or another agreed departure point.
