Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Kigali City Tour
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Silverback Tour representative and introduced to your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, you will begin your Kigali city tour, exploring some of the capital’s most interesting cultural and historical attractions. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit a local market, craft centre or other notable city attraction where you can learn more about Rwanda’s heritage and contemporary lifestyle. You will have an opportunity to interact with local artisans and discover locally made crafts, including traditional woven products and other souvenirs. Your guide will share useful information about Kigali’s development, culture and role as the gateway to Rwanda’s safari destinations. After the city tour, you will enjoy lunch and have time to relax at your hotel before dinner. Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Wildlife Safari
After an early breakfast, you will leave Kigali and travel towards Akagera National Park, situated in eastern Rwanda. The journey takes you through scenic countryside characterised by rolling hills, cultivated farmland and rural communities. Upon entering the park, you will begin an exciting Akagera wildlife safari, exploring open savannah, woodland and wetland habitats. Your experienced guide will help you search for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and numerous bird species as you travel through the park. Depending on the season, location and wildlife movements, you may also have opportunities to see lions and rhinoceroses. The game drive provides excellent opportunities for wildlife photography while your guide explains Akagera’s ecosystems and conservation history. After several hours of exploration, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and relaxation, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Lake Ihema Boat Safari and Departure
You will wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading to Lake Ihema for an exciting boat safari. Your boat guide will explain the wetland ecosystem while helping you identify different bird and wildlife species along the shoreline. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for lunch or a short stop in Kigali before proceeding to Kigali International Airport.
